Stephen Strasburg Hates the Yankees
As per the #1 pick by the Nationals Facebook status update:
Guys i appreciate you telling me who I should sign with, but I was drafted by teh Nationals so I can't sign with an other MLB club. Plus I would never want to sign with the Skankees they think they can buy a WS you can't look at the Philles and Rays last year
See you in interleague play rook.
Also, I have a keychain review and a book review to publish, be on the look out.

With the Number One Pick...

...of the 2009 draft, the New York Yankees select...from Texas High School in Texarkana, Texas...Slade Heathcott.
Heathcott is the first position player to be taken by the Yankees in the first round since Carl Henry back in 2005. He is a five-tool outfielder who brings plenty of promise to the future of the organization.
His accomplishments include:
* 2007 1st Team All-District
* 2007 WSSSA World Series MVP
* 2008 1st Team All-District
* Texas Rangers Area Code Team
Speaking of Carl Henry, where is he now? Batting a weak career .222 in A ball. Might as well go back to school, get a degree, and try a different profession.

2007 Draft Rounds 1-5
Round 1
#30 Andrew Brackman, RHP
North Carolina St UniversityThe concern with Brackman heading into his first full season as a baseball player only was how durable he would be. The former basketball standout had never spent an entire college season as a starting pitcher and he ended up being shut down with a tired arm late in the year. Still, the pure stuff, including a 97-mph fastball when he's 100 percent, intrigues many scouts and despite the inconsistent year, he's still in the first-round fray as more of a college project than an advanced arm.
Round 2#94 Austin Romine, CEl Toro High SchoolRomine hasn't always played scout league ball, limiting how often he's been seen outside of the regular season. Though he's been tough to evaluate in the past because of an ever-changing offensive approach, he's settled in and has shown good hitting potential to go along with a strong throwing arm. The only question is if Kevin's son will go pro or follow his brother's path and head to ASU.
Round 3#124 Ryan Pope, RHPSavannah Collage of Art & DesignRound 4#154 Bradley Suttle, 3BUniversity of TexasPlaying for a major program, Suttle certainly got plenty of looks this year. He can do some nice things with the bat, but doesn't project much power and doesn't run well. Defensively, he's OK at best. As a draft-eligible sophomore, he does have the leverage of coming back for his junior year at Texas. Right now, though, he looks more like a backup or platoon-type player.
Round 5#184 Adam Olbrychowski, RHPPepperdine University-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
