Earlier today, Major League Baseball unveiled the players that will represent their league in the 2006 All-Star Game to be held July 11 at Pittsburgh PNC Park.
Third baseman Alex Rodriguez and shortstop Derek Jeter were voted on by the fans as starters. This marks A-Rods ninth time in which he has started the game as well as Jeter's ninth.
Derek Jeter owns the best batting percentage of all time in the Midsummer Classic with .700 and has also claimed the 2000 MVP award. Other members selected to the show are second baseman Robinson Cano, a second year phenom; however, a hamstring injury will keep him out of the lineup.
Mariano Rivera was also selected marking his fifth time. Rivera's career All-Star Game ERA is 0.00 with two saves.
