All-Star Weekend - Win BE Credits!
We are proud to announce out first contest on BronxBloggers!
On Monday, July 10, eight of the greatest sluggers of 2006 will take part in the home run derby. As of right now, only six members are confirmed and two more are on the way. This contest will be like any other NCAA basketball pool, you pick who will advance, and to make things more interesting, you will also pick how many home runs each individual will hit.
For every right player picked in the first round, you will earn 10 credits each, for every correct player you pick for the second round, you will win 25 credits, and if you pick the correct champion, you will win 100 credits.
You will also win credits if you home run total estimate is correct per player; each home run will then be worth 2 credits each.
For example, in the final round, If I pick Joe1 to win the tournament and hit 13 home runs, and he does, then I will win 100 credits for picking the champion and 26 credits for his home run count. If he hits any less or more than 13 home run, I can not get credit for his homeruns.
Here are the six members currently on the home run derby list:
Lance Berkman (HOU, NL, 2004 finalist)
David Wright (NYM, NL)
Ryan Howard (PHI, NL)
Miguel Cabrera (FLA, NL)
Troy Glaus (TOR, AL)
David Ortiz (BOS, AL)
Jemaine Dye (CWS, AL)
Miguel Tejada (BAL, AL 2004 winner)
SIGN UPS WILL END 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE HOME RUN DERBY
The other contest we will run is who will win this years All-Star Game?
American League or National League.
You decided, pick the winner, AND the final score. You will win 100 credits plus an additional 50 if you can pick the correct MVP.
SIGN UPS WILL END 10 MINUTES PRIOR GAME TIME
Sounds complicated, make you home run derby picks like any other NCAA basketball pool, pick you All-Star Game winner with final score, pick the All-Star Game MVP, and win buku credits.

Don't know much about baseball - but I love entering contests.
I'll say the winner of the All Star game is the National League. Score 8-4.
Have no clue whose playing - so no guess on MVP.
As for the home run derby, with baseketbal I have blank boxes to fill out. Not sure if this is correct. Know what - I'll just put them in the order I think they'll be elimated and the points is the total number of homeruns they ended up hitting
Those Out first on top:
1. Troy Glaus (TOR, AL) - 6 HR
2. Jemaine Dye (CWS, AL) - 8 HR
3. David Ortiz (BOS, AL) - 11 HR
4. Lance Berkman (HOU, NL) - 15 HR
5. Miguel Cabrera (FLA, NL) - 16 HR
6. David Wright (NYM, NL) - 17 HR
7. Ryan Howard (PHI, NL) - 18
Winner: Miguel Tejada (BAL, AL 2004 winner) 19 homeruns
If this is completely wrong with the format -just enter me in the first contest.
Thank you
Suzanne
