My Concession Speech
There is no beating around the bush, no sweet way to say it, nothing.
The. Yankees. Flat. Out. Suck.
One of the most potent offenses on paper but when it's game time, nothing happens. Poor clutch hitting, hitting with RISP is laughable, and when we have a great start by a pitcher, we give him no run support.
The Yankees do not in any way deserve the playoffs and are damn lucky to have a winning season. It's getting to a point in which the Yankees are closer to last place than first.
13 consecutive playoffs appearances, one of the greatest runs of all-time. Six pennants, four World Series titles, ten straight AL East titles, and two wild cards. This, I am glad to have witnessed and been a part of the fans who cheered them on.
Now they give me nothing for me to cheer for. I was lucky to see them win 2-1 in my first ever game at Yankee Stadium. Now I have the mis-fortune to watch them die in an embarrassing fashion.
Our starting center fielder was sent down to the minors, shortstop and second base looked like players near retirement, and catching was nothing short but a fizzle. Who saw that at one point Melky Cabrera had more home runs than Alex Rodriguez? Ridiculous.
Granted the Yankees suffered through some injuries affecting our ace, and a pitcher-friendly catcher, but to see them crumble this bad is unspeakable.
The Yankees are officially done. For those who still believe, more power to you. For those of you who are with me, I share your pain.
Red Sox fans rejoice, the Yankees are not going to the post season. Lifetime players Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera will have no idea what to do, for they have been playing October baseball their entire career.
NoMass.org showed it best...

The Yankees do suck this year, and I love it! Go Twins <--- A team that doesn't need to spend 200 million to have an annually competitive team.

Nice blog. I thought the "Bronx Bloggers for Dummies" feature on the side bar was a cool and clever idea. Nice job.
