Let it Begin
No teams gather as much attention as the Yankees and the Red Sox, and nothing gets the baseball world more excited then when these two play each other.
It seems as if the players step it up a notch as if they were playing in the playoffs. Derek Jeter diving in the stands chasing after a foul ball, Melky Cabrera leaping up and over to rob Manny Ramirez of a home run, and Alex Rodriguez duking it out with Jason Varitek.
Riot police once had to play the role of stadium security and any brush off pitch can set off a nuclear explosion of fierce emotions.
The Yankees will play three games in Boston where last time they played there in 2006, they put together a five game sweep taking full and permanent control of the AL East. Boston came to New York taking two of three, but by that time, they were too far in the way of coming close to the division lead.
One question for Boston:
What are you going to do about this guy?
No rivalry is larger, Yankees, Red Sox, let it begin.

Is it October yet? I guess not since A-Rod is actually hitting the ball...Enjoy the fame now Alex because it will all change in a few months.

I wouldn't pitch to him again this weekend!
Just bring in Rivera for the save.....

lol Hotdogman. I do remember last year when Rivera came in to save the game and he was cheered by the Sox fans.

The Sox have been able to get to him the past few years. He got the biggest ovation on opening day in 2005!
